Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were both left out of the Manchester United squad for the win over Manchester City on Sunday afternoon
David Beckham praised players who are eager to represent Manchester United, in what appeared to be a swipe at two stars dropped from the team.
The Portuguese manager attributed their omissions to factors such as "training performance, game performances, and engagement with teammates" and clarified later that no disciplinary issues influenced his choice. Yet Beckham seemed to aim a dig both Rashford and Garnacho after taking to Instagram to share an image of Amad celebrating his decisive goal.
"So, he's given us clues as to what's happened over the last few days that they've been moping. Not doing their bit around the training ground, engaging with their teammates properly, standards in training. And he's gone 'no, I'm not having it, I'm not accepting it.' Meanwhile, Roy Keane, another ex-Reds, suggested that Rashford might benefit from a change of scenery, stating: "A move for Marcus would suit the player – a new challenge for him. He's been there a long time.
