Former Man United shot-stopper is reportedly closing in on a return to football, 12 months on after leaving Old Trafford.
Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is 'in talks' to join Italian side Genoa, according to a report by The Athletic.
It was reported during the week that De Gea, who won eight trophies during his time in M16, was attracting interest from clubs in Italy, the United States and Saudi Arabia. It was also claimed that an unnamed English club had expressed interest in his signature.It is now reported that he is in discussions with Genoa about the possibility of joining the Serie A outfit. They finished 11th in the Italian top flight last season after being promoted from Serie B in 2022/23.
De Gea last played on June 3 last year, starting United's 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
