The upmarket department store has penned a 10-year deal with the financial services company, ending its long-term relationship with Amex.

“This RFP [request for proposal] process has been in market confidentiality for a year, so it absolutely has nothing to do with the ASIC investigation,” he said.Mr Fyfe said the deal with Latitude was a large part of the company’s 2025 vision, calling it a “key strategic pillar” in its financial services proposition.

Mr Fyfe said there were about 190,000 active David Jones credit card customers as part of its Amex partnership. “We just haven’t yet been fully in a position to announce that to the market, but clearly we will in the very near term,” Mr Fahour said.
