The Friedkin Group group have been searching for a new manager after sacking Sean Dyche on Thursday
David Moyes looks set for a sensational return to Everton. Talks between the club’s new owners, The Friedkin Group , and the 61-year-old had taken place throughout Friday afternoon and are understood to have progressed significantly. The ECHO understands that Moyes is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract and could even take his first training session tomorrow . An official announcement confirming the appointment is also expected tomorrow.
The Scot quickly emerged as the frontrunner to replace Dyche, with TFG entering negotiations with him almost immediately after the 53-year-old's departure. While Moyes had recently stated his preference was to avoid a managerial return that would see him embroiled in a relegation battle, it is understood Everton was deemed a special case and that he was open to a return to Merseyside.
