David Moyes, the former West Ham manager, is open to a new challenge but insists it won't be a relegation scrap. He prefers a successful project and has garnered support from Rangers fans who hope he'll replace Philippe Clement.
Confident David Moyes is adamant his managerial journey is far from over as he told potential suitors exactly what he wants in his next gig. The 61-year-old remains hungry for success and reminded clubs that he remains keen to return to football. But Moyes insists he isn't looking for a relegation scrap in his first job since West Ham.
Moyes' reputation grows with each passing year with Rangers punters putting him up as the perfect option if under-fire Philippe Clement is unable to arrest an alarming season. And the seasoned Scot remains adored on Merseyside with Everton fans desperate for him to one day return. Speaking to the BBC, Moyes said: 'I don't consider myself done yet but I am certainly enjoying some time off. The one thing I won't do is put any manager under pressure personally, because I don't believe in it. I have not liked it when I have been in that position myself. We are all getting a little bit older and I have to make sure I am doing the right thing for myself. 'If there is another part to it, so be it. But I would only want it to be a good part. I wouldn't want to be coming in and doing something which is very difficult. I don't want to be at the bottom of the league and fighting relegation which I have had a few times, so we will see how things go.' And it's in his hometown where a sizeable section of the Light Blues support would love to see him land. Moyes is the runaway leader in online polls among punters who believe Clement is reaching his end game. The revered boss has also been the sizzling name on the Hotline for a fanbase on the brink. Moyes was effusive of his praise about the Ibrox side as they both battled to reach the Europa League Final in 2021 - with West Ham being dumped in the semi finals by Rangers' conquerors Eintracht Frankfurt. The former Celtic player has always aimed to be diplomatic and has made clear 'Glasgow is my city' in the past
