Comedian Dawn French has spoken candidly about her transformation.
Much-loved comedian Dawn French has opened up about her incredible weight loss journey over the years after she was forced to change her lifestyle in 2011.
She shared her love for her former 'bigger' self and said lots of people have rudely commented on how she previously looked. "She's this giant talent, why reduce her to that? I'm not taking any s*** from anyone about any of it," Dawn added. Doctors warned the star she would have to lose weight in order to have the life-saving operation with minimal recovery time, pushing her to take up walking and begin counting her calories.

I never did dislike anything about my body, even when I was very, very fat. I refuse to be forced to dislike myself. I used to get really angry when I did lose weight, people going, 'You look so well,' as if you looked awful before - rewarding you for managing it, which is not easy, I accept that. But I didn't want people to give me approval. It's so patronising.
