The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is targeting to release all special allotment release orders (SAROs) for 2024 within the first quarter of the year, amid a planned review of the budget execution of government agencies.

At a briefing in Manila, Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said the department is now reviewing the budget execution and has already asked agencies to submit their respective catch-up plans regarding their spending.

The review, targeted to be completed within the year, also seeks to ensure that releases are in line with the Philippine Development Plan crafted by the National Economic and Development Authority .
