Kevin De Bruyne is approaching the end of his contract with Manchester City and is free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January 1st. The 33-year-old midfielder's time at the Etihad Stadium is coming to an end due to recurring injuries and fitness concerns. Despite his impressive contributions with 104 goals and 171 assists in 400 appearances, De Bruyne's future at City is uncertain.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season and can agree a pre-contract deal with foreign sides from Wednesday (1 January). De Bruyne is inching towards the exit door at the Etihad Stadium after a trophy-laden spell of almost 10 years at the club. Injuries and fitness issues have started to plague the playmaker, who has only started 10 games across all competitions this term.
He has hit two goals and notched two assists in 17 appearances in league, cup and Champions League this term. De Bruyne’s next game for City will be his 400th and he has scored 104 goals and notched 171 assists for the club. MLS outfit San Diego FC have also been widely linked as a potential destination for De Bruyne should he wish to move to the United States.
