Manchester United have formally completed their move for Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich and he could even make his Premier League debut on Friday night.
Matthijs de Ligt's wife has posted an exciting two-word message on social media as the Netherlands international prepares for a fresh start at Manchester United.
The 25-year-old saw his move to Old Trafford rubber-stamped on Tuesday night. De Ligt, who is well-known to the United manager Erik ten Hag from their Ajax days, touched down in the UK as part of a double transfer with former Ajax and now-ex Bayern Munich teammate Noussair Mazraoui. United paid £51.5million for De Ligt and Mazraoui to take their overall spend this summer nearer to the £150million-mark. Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee agreed their respective moves last month, and United are still in the market for further additions if they can sanction much-needed sales.
Reacting to the deal on social media, De Ligt's wife Anne Kee posted a image of the two embracing with husband Matthijs wearing his brand new United third shirt. A two-word caption read: "NEW CHAPTER!!!" Anne Kee added a butterfly and red love heart emoji to her post. She has been inundated with 'likes' and countless comments wishing them well for their time in Manchester.
