Police have made an appeal to the public after a "suspicious and unnatural" discovery in a field outside a Nottinghamshire village. A report was made to Nottinghamshire Police on Tuesday, December 10 of several dead birds of prey being found near Bunny, in the Rushcliffe area.
A member of Raptor Persecution in Rushcliffe told the force they were seen in suspicious and unnatural circumstances. Police made an appeal on Facebook following the grim discovery. "We are appealing for the public's help, if you have seen any suspicious animal carcasses while out walking please report them to police and do not allow dogs or other animals to touch them as they may be poisoned," its Rushcliffe team posted. "If you have any information which might assist enquiries it can be reported online or via 101 quoting occurrence number 24000745675.
"If you have information about any wildlife crime they can be reported online at https://orlo.uk/cOctp. If a crime is in progress such as hare coursing or illegal hunting with dogs then ring 999."
