Summary With Deadpool's threequel, Deadpool & Wolverine finally released, it's worth looking ahead at where the story could go in the future and if Deadpool will return for a Deadpool 4. The MCU has always made the most of the characters on its roster. Before Robert Downey Jr. retired from his role as Tony Stark, he appeared in nine different movies, three of which had his character as the title hero.
Despite this, Marvel does create plans that cover several years into the future, with most of their big Phase announcements coming during huge events like San Diego Comic Con. If there is a future for the hero, it's likely he will have a cameo somewhere before a Deadpool 4 is created. But, once the mutants all settle into the MCU, there is every possibility that Marvel Studios will call on Ryan Reynolds to don the red suit once again.
Aside from those individuals who are almost certain to return, Deadpool now has his potential best friend, Wolverine, in his circle of friends, along with his quasi-daughter figure, X-23. While it is possible that Wolverine will forge his own path and continue his lone wolf lifestyle, this Wolverine learned the value of friendship and team work, and it would make sense for him to return. But, that could also minimize the impact of Deadpool & Wolverine as a wish-fulfillment movie.
