Gordon Stirling, 23, died following the collision near to the junction with the A719 for Galston at around 5.30pm on Monday, August 14.
Gordon, from Crosshouse in Ayrshire, was the driver of a single decker Stagecoach bus.
Gordon's death is now being treated as murder and police are continuing to appeal for information. Stagecoach also said that a full investigation is ongoing into the incident. "The whole Stagecoach team is devastated about this and we all send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. We are also supporting those colleagues at Stagecoach who knew him."
