The Wests Tigers have apologised to their fans and confirmed the club will redesign their ANZAC Round jersey following sharp criticism for using a picture of American troops.

The original jersey featured a stock image of American soldiers to be worn during the round dedicated to commemorating Australian and New Zealand troops.

“The Commemorative Jersey to be worn by our players for this match has been criticised because an image on the jersey does not accurately depict Australian or New Zealand troops. The Wests Tigers came under fire for using this image of American soldiers on its ANZAC Round jersey. Picture: Facebook “The Tigers have apparently used two American soldiers on their ANZAC jersey. If true, I am continuously shocked how a club can be run so poorly? I genuinely think it’s time that someone needs to step in, because they’ll cease to exist if they continue on this trajectory,” commented a third.

The Wests Tigers told SkyNews.com.au the original design had been made in collaboration with Holsworthy Army Barracks who approved of the design.
