Deficit under 3% in 2026, debt under 140% in 2025 - NADEF

- ROME, SEP 29 - Italy's budget deficit will fall below 3% of GDP in 2026, according to a table of public finance indicators published in the government's NADEF economic and financial plan update Friday. A lack of sharp drops in the planned deficit and debt for the next two years spurred a rise in the bond spread Thursday.

The NADEF says In particular, that for this year the deficit is set at 5.3% programmatically , for 2024 the programmatic deficit is set at 4.3%, the tendential at 3.6%; in 2025 it is 3.6% ; then in 2026 it goes down to 2.9% .
