DEL Amitri frontman Justin Currie has asked doting fans who want to donate money to charity in his honour to send it to a human rights cause which has helped people facing the death sentence.Fans have since been contacting his fan club page on Facebook asking if they can make a donation to charity.which fights for justice for some of the world’s most vulnerable people, from those illegally detained in Guantanamo Bay to people on death row.

Asked by Reprieve why he wanted to support the cause, he said: “I have been a big fan of Reprieve’s tireless legal work in Guantanamo and representing people under sentence of death, the most iniquitous punishment meted out by human organisations. So far a JustGiving page has racked up more than £5600 for the charity from more than 260 supporters.We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories.
