FBI and San Antonio police have surrounded Delia's Tamales, a restaurant chain based in the Rio Grande Valley.
The FBI is raiding Delia 's Tamales, a popular Mexican restaurant on San Antonio 's on the Northwest Side that touts itself as the 'best tamale maker' in Texas . On Wednesday, there was a large FBI presence at the Rio Grande Valley locations, where the chain is based, and at its location in San Antonio at 13527 Hausman Pass.
Acclaimed tamales maker Delia’s faces fraud, age discrimination claims from 26 former employees Ricardo Gonzalez, identified as an attorney for Delia’s Tamales, told valleycentral.com that they were not notified by the FBI on the activity. Delia's Tamales, owned by McAllen-based Delgar Foods LLC., is facing a suit accusing the company of scheming to get 26 ex-employees 'fake' social security cards so they could work for the company, according to a previous story.
