Deloitte US has instructed employees on government contracts to remove gender pronouns from email signatures and discontinued its diversity and inclusion programs. This follows a trend of companies adapting policies after the election of Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Deloitte UK has affirmed its commitment to diversity initiatives, diverging from the US firm's approach.

Deloitte US has asked employees working on government contracts to remove gender pronouns from their email signatures and ditched its wider diversity and inclusion programmes, in the latest sign of companies shifting their policies after the election of Donald Trump. But the Big Four firm’s UK arm signalled on Tuesday it would double down on its diversity policies, splitting from the US firm’s policy direction.

While the order did not direct private companies to take specific action, it mandated that government agencies ensure “federal funds shall not be used to promote gender ideology” and that agencies should take account of “grantee preferences” when entering into contracts. The change would require a review of federal contracts to make sure they were “not being given in a manner to promote gender ideology”, an incoming White House official told reporters at the time.

Anexia CEO, Windbichler, explained that Broadcom's new licensing model, requiring upfront payments and long-term contracts, would have severely impacted the company's cash flow and competitiveness. The migration was facilitated by Anexia's ownership of Netcup, a hosting business already running on KVM, and an internal abstraction layer called 'Anexia Engine' that shielded customers from VMware's interface.
