Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., shared video of the alleged student on social media.
Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., took a strong stance against antisemitism Monday by condemning the actions of an alleged college student.
Torres posted a video on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, showing what he described as “a student from UPenn” urging a crowd to recall memories of “joyful” and “happy” images from the Oct.7 invasion of Israel. “A student from UPenn is seen speaking fondly about the 'joyful' images of butchered Israelis from the ‘glorious October 7th,’” he. “She felt ‘happy’ upon hearing the news of dead Jews in Israel. In what appears to be a call for violence, she tells the crowd to ‘hold that feeling in your hearts and ‘bring it to the streets.’ This is not a patient at a psychiatric hospital. This is a student at an Ivy League.”“Joyful. Glorious. Exhilarating.
Foreign countries send billions of dollars to top US Universities: 'Not a surprise we're seeing anti-Israel protests on college campuses'. “We don’t occupy Gaza. We actually left it in 2005. We also want the Palestinians to have their own self-determination but that cannot come at the expense of our existence. And that’s what Hamas is about. Read the charter of Hamas, they are about destroying Israel which is to eradicate the Jewish people.
