A rejected CHC application also means that families miss out on funding that would have paid for their loved one’s care. This may mean they find themselves facing increased caring responsibilities; they may also have to fund the person’s care themselves, putting a strain on their finances and heightening levels of carer stress and burnout.
Over half do not know what support is out there or what benefits they are entitled to when it comes to caring for someone with dementia. Almost a quarter of people did not knowCouncil Tax reduction and Disability Premium, among many others are available to them.
