GBM Demolition has begun the demolition of the former Sumpter Horse Inn in Preston, sparking concerns among nearby residents about noise, water drainage, and traffic congestion. The pub, previously saved from demolition after a community campaign, is now being cleared as part of a wider housing and redevelopment plan.

“We will try to keep the noise and disruption to an absolute minimum and would like to thank the residents in advance for their patience and understanding whilst we complete these works.” The demolition beginning has seen concerns raised by those living nearby, who posted within Penwortham Facebook groups.: “Things such as water drainage, noise and the already bad access/exit onto an already busy Leyland Road is my primary concern about the demolition.”Sign up below to receive Blog Preston's email newsletter.
