Around 90 objections were raised to this, covering both the existing building's demolition and the proposals for the site.
Plans to demolish a Victorian property in North Belfast have been halted after local residents voiced their concerns.
The planning proposal for the site suggested there are up to 32 parking spaces available within a 200-meter radius, however locals contended this was not the case. A group of residents in Willowbank Gardens and nearby Rosemount Avenue have been petitioning for a one-way system on the two streets due to traffic congestion and parking issues since 2020.
"Residents then acted and lodged almost 90 complaints. The great news is that the application has been withdrawn. When demolition equipment first appeared at the property, one resident from nearby Willowbank Gardens, David O’Neill, said the proposed plans weren't feasible. He added: “Last year three disabled on-street spaces had to be created on this street, which tells you just how difficult residents have found parking near their own homes.
