The Department of Health (DOH) said that the country’s dengue cases have already reached more than 45,000 since January.

It was also noted that in just a span of four weeks or from May 15 to June 11, a total of 11,680 dengue cases were recorded nationwide. Since Jan. 1, the regions with the most number of dengue cases were Central Visayas, 5,863; Central Luzon, 5,773; and Zamboanga Peninsula, 4,416. Meanwhile, 15 out of the 17 regions have “exceeded the alert or epidemic threshold for the past four weeks,” the DOH said.
