The Pasig City local government won three major awards in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources “Gawad Taga-Ilog 3.0: Search for the Most Improved Estero in Metro Manila” awarding ceremony on Friday, March 24, in Quezon City.

Based on the criteria for the SWM category, Pasig was recognized for its fully functional barangay SWM committee, materials recovery facility , implementation of information, education, and communication campaigns, and regular cleanups. The part of the Pasig River located in Barangay Pineda also won the first runner-up spot in the Gawad Taga-Ilog Search for the Most Improved Estero category.
