The WBC have now officially ordered Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz to happen next
A month prior, Ruiz took part in a separate semi-final eliminator. And this has now been officially ordered by the WBC, as they’ve set Wilder vs Ruiz as a final eliminator to determine Fury’s next mandatory challenger.Their teams will now get to work trying to make the fight, though it should be easier given that the pair both fight under Al Haymon’s PBC banner.
Wilder was ringside for Ruiz Jr’s win over Ortiz and was asked in the aftermath about a potential fight against the victor.“If that’s what lies up next, I’ve gotta handle business, but after that we can get it on.”Ruiz Jr said of Wilder: “We’re in the same organisation. I wanna thank Al Haymon. We can make this fight happen and let’s do it, let’s get it on.”
