DepEd expects ‘more enrollees’ in learning camps

The Department of Education (DepEd) is expecting more enrollees in its National Leaning Camp (NLC) which started this week.

As of July 23, DepEd data on NLC showed that there are 480,488 Grade 7 enrollees for NLC. There are also 458,853 Grade 8 learners who enrolled for NLC according to DepEd.The number of enrollees and actual participants, DepEd said, may “increase further” in the coming days.

Based on the School Year 2022-2023, DepEd said that there are 1,689,877 Grade 7 enrollees and 1,779,403 Grade 8 enrollees. For Grade 8, DepEd noted that the current number of NLC participants is 25.79 percent of the actual Grade 8 enrollment for SY 2022-2023. The NLC is a sub-program under the National Learning Recovery Program which aims to address learning loss.
