DEPHER's James Anderson was moved to tears by the transformation of his garden by ITV's Alan Titchmarsh and his team.
James Anderson, from Burnley, founded the charity DEPHER - Disabled and Elderly, Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response - in 2017 after witnessing a rise in the number of vulnerable people right on his doorstep. The former plumber left his day job and set up the charity despite being £18k in debt.DEPHER relies heavily on public donations to cover all labour and materials and to provide its free services for people in need.
When talking to Alan about his back garden, James said: "I'd love to sunbathe with the wife in the back garden. I'd love to hold her hand while I'm just lying there, drinking a cup of tea and say I love you, but I can't because it's a concrete jungle. Alan and his team worked hard to create a contemporary Ibiza style party pad, with 'cool clean lines and dramatic planting'. The garden now features a modern dining zone surrounded by lush planting, and an outdoor kitchen area. The garden also is home to their pet rabbits, in bespoke bunny palace.
