Jeter joined the crew this summer starting with the Cardinals-Cubs series in London.
Derek Jeter’s first year with Fox’s MLB coverage ended as the World Series concluded on Wednesday night, and his teammates wanted to know if he’d be returning with them for another season.“I didn’t expect to have this much fun,” Jeter said when prompted by host Kevin Burkhardt to reflect on the year. “I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, but I had so much fun here.
“We’re all fans of the spot, we’re fans of the game. And to get an opportunity to sit here and shine a light on the young players that are coming up, it’s been awesome and I’m looking forward to next year.” But when pressed by former Yankees teammate Alex Rodriguez if he’d be joining the Fox crew next year, Jeter was coy and didn’t give a definitive answer.“I only give this to my dawg,” the Hall of Fame designated hitter said before presenting Jeter with a shirt that literally said “My Dawg” with a picture of the former Red Sox star celebrating a home run on it.“It took me a long time to get this,” Jeter said.Derek Jeter was given one last gift this season.
