A derelict Hyde Road pub is set to become an apartment block with ‘reservoir views’ after a new planning bid was launched.

The new project will see 50 new homes built on the site, if it gets planning permission. There will be 28 two-bedroom flats, 13 one-bedroom flats, eight three-bedroom townhouses, and one five-bedroom townhouse. Heloise Wood, design director at architects Atelier MB, said Gorton’s history informed the building’s look and feel: “The site at the former Band Stand pub has provided us with the opportunity to design modern waterside homes which respect and draw from Gorton’s industrial heritage.
