Doctor Who boss Russell T Davies revealed Nicola Coughlan will feature in the Christmas special next year
Star of the hit Irish sitcom Derry Girls, Nicola Coughlan is to star in the Doctor Who Christmas special in 2024. The 36-year-old from Co Galway, who played Clare Devlin in the hilarious, award-winning series as well as Penelope Featherington in the Netflix period drama Bridgerton, will be in the 2024 Christmas special.
This year's specials bring back David Tennant as the Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble as part of the show's 60th anniversary celebrations. The Irishwoman played Diplomat Barbie in the record-breaking blockbuster and was listed as the sixth most influential cast member, with an Instagram following of just over 2.5 million.
