'Descendants: The Rise of Red' stars Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, and Rita Ora discuss that twist ending and promise to return for a sequel.

Sydney Bucksbaum is a writer at Entertainment Weekly covering all things pop culture – but TV is her one true love. She currently lives in Los Angeles but grew up in Chicago so please don't make fun of her accent when it slips out.The fourth movie musical in the popular franchise about the children of Disney characters introduces the next generation of Villain Kids with the titular Red , the rebellious daughter of the ruthless Queen of Hearts , and many other iconic Disney characters.

Red and Chloe work together to stop Uliana and the other V.K.'s from pulling off the prank, getting them sent to detention for a year and clearing the way for Bridget to have a good, totally not traumatic time at the Castlecoming dance. Red is still worried that her mother will be a cold, ruthless villain when they return to the present, but she is delighted to discover the Queen of Hearts is now a loving, joyful ruler and mother, and she is no longer threatening to behead Cinderella.

So by the end of the movie, Red and Chloe change history and save their mothers, and all of Auradon Prep has a dance party to celebrate. But then Uma warns in a voiceover that even though everyone got what they wanted, "getting what you want can be dangerous...especially when you mess with the fabric of time."

"You didn't think that was the end of the story, did you?" Uma says, her ominous laugh ending the movie.Tiny Desk
