Desperate search for missing girl who disappeared in river
AN urgent search has been launched after an eight-year-old girl disappeared in a river in Scotland.
Emergency services are at the River Leven in Balloch this evening after the girl was reported missing in the water.Helicopters have also been sighted in the area as a search was initially launched for two missing people. It's reported one person has been recovered safely with emergency crews frantically trying to trace a young female in the water.West Dunbartonshire Police confirmed roads have been closed off in the area.
They tweeted: "Motorists are advised that Balloch Road is currently closed between the A82 roundabout and Carrochan Road, Balloch due to an ongoing police incident at the River Leven.
