Recent Destiny Rising leaks compare it to Diablo Immortal and claim that the target audience is 'not western Destiny 2 players'.
Despite recent turmoil at Bungie, Destiny remains a huge property with a massive fanbase. Bungie has revealed their exciting plans for D2 next year, and they are also working on bringing back the Marathon series. In addition, there is Destiny Rising of which recent leaks compare it to Diablo Immortal with the proclamation it’s “not for western Destiny 2 players”. For D2, Bungie has shared their Year 11 roadmap for 2025/26.
According to Tassi, Game Post has said it is a third-person shooter, yet still somehow mirrors the core Destiny gameplay experience. Tassi isn’t able to corroborate this, so that needs to be acknowledged. Tassi reports the game is “hero-focused,” and you will play as characters during an older era of Destiny’s history. No names are confirmed, but Tassi expects the likes of Zavala and Shaxx. It might also be set during the Warlord era.
