Detectives investigating the tragic death of a newborn baby girl found in a snowy field near Salford , Greater Manchester , have named the infant Ava. The body was discovered by a dog walker on November 20. A post-mortem examination confirmed the baby was a girl, but the cause of death remains unknown pending further tests. Detective Inspector Charlotte Whalley said the investigation aims to find out what happened to Ava and identify her mother.
