Vigils were held across the country on Friday to remember the talented young musician, who was ‘so well-loved by everyone’ who knew her. Following Ashling’s death, her parents have paid tribute to their ‘special little girl’, who had only just started her career as a teacher when she was tragically killed.
‘She was a great worker, with great drive. A marvellous musician. She crammed so much into her short life. The President of Ireland Michael D Higgins has paid his own tribute to Ashling and called for society to reflect on what is needed to eliminate violence against women.
