Multiple wildfires fueled by strong winds and dry conditions are ripping through Los Angeles County, destroying homes and injuring first responders.
The destructive Los Angeles wildfires have rapidly expanded across multiple counties, with 0% containment and flames tearing through thousands of acres. Fire officials have reported at least two deaths and a high number of injuries as the blazes continue to rage in four different areas. Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said the injuries involved several residents who did not evacuate as well as first responders battling the fires.
The Palisades Fire burning in the Pacific Palisades, an affluent neighborhood in western Los Angeles, has destroyed 1,000 structures and continues to grow, Marrone added. Over 5,000 acres across three different counties have burned so far since the fires began on Tuesday morning. The gusty winds and dry conditions have allowed the fires to spread to four counties, including Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, and Woodley.
