UK news: Family's devastation as beloved son, 20, killed by teen girl moments after begging her to slow down
The family of a young man killed by a speeding drunk driver have paid tribute to the 'loveable rogue' and say they will have to live with a 'life sentence' as his killer could be free after just five years.
Elliot's family have described him as a 'lovely cheeky chappy' who wanted to dedicate his life to helping abused children, with plans to apply for a health and social care course prior to his death, YorkshireLive reports. "He’d always ring me for advice as we had such a close relationship. It’s destroyed my family and it’s destroyed me inside, although I don’t show it because I have to stay strong for my two kids and my little granddaughter, she’s only nine.
His brother Leon was sleeping over at Elliot’s flat the night he was killed. His final words to Leon were, “I’m just going to nip out, won’t be long”.
