A Shrewsbury developer wants to build three apartment blocks behind the recenetly renovated former Lord Hill Hotel.
Now, the developer behind the project has unveiled plans to build three apartment blocks behind the historic property.-based developer SY Homes submitted the plans to Shropshire Council on Wednesday, and a public consultation is now underway.
SY Homes had submitted plans to build two four-storey apartment blocks to provide 44 new apartments on the same plot back in July 2021, but the plans were rejected by Shropshire Council. The new application is attempting to resolve those concerns, with three buildings of a lower height and smaller scale built in what the developers say would be"an architectural finish that accords with the traditional forms and materials of the Abbey Foregate character area".Designs show the buildings would be constructed mainly from red brick with slate roofing and with Georgian-style windows and doors.
