This is the device that sparked a bomb alert and led to evacuations on a Salford housing estate tonight.
READ MORE: Four-year-old boy dies from injuries after horrific Wigan house fire which killed his father Police said a number of homes were evacuated on the new-build estate as a result after the discovery of what they called a 'suspicious item' at a house. It's not known how many homes were evacuated in total. The estate runs off Green Lane, which runs beside the Bridgewater Canal.
Another man at the scene said: "I was at work and my wife rang me and said everyone was being told to get out. It's worrying when nobody tells you anything."
