Skipper has come under fire for his lack of goals this season but Devlin reckons his all round game has been overlooked.

Cammy Devlin is certain Lawrence Shankland will hit the goal trail soon - but insists it’s time his Hearts team mates stepped up and helped smooth the path.

Hearts bossed the second half at Ibrox on Sunday evening and were worthy of a point. But a frustrated Critchley claimed platitudes and positive performances are no use - insisting he doesn’t want his side to become a “nearly team”.

“First of all you can’t concede soft goals within the first five minutes when you come here. But when you regroup and start playing nice football it’s about being ruthless in both boxes and we weren’t. It’s so frustrating playing the way we did and not getting a goal.
