THE Department of Foreign Affairs has finally cancelled the passport of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Leal Guo a.k.a. Guo Hua Ping. The DFA has also cancelled the passports of Sheila Leal Guo, Cassandra Li Ong and 70 others.
THE Department of Foreign Affairs has finally cancelled the passport of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Leal Guo a.k.a. Guo Hua Ping.The passport cancellation on Guo sisters and Ong became effective on September 30, 2024, more than three months after the three were arrested in Indonesia.
It turned out that the Department of Justice forwarded to the DFA the certification from the National Bureau of Investigation only last September 18, 2024. Last August 20, while the POGO Bamban and POGO Pampanga personalities are still hiding overseas, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin issued a memorandum ordering the DFA to cancel Guo sisters’ and Ong’s passports in the “interest of national security.”
When Guo was arrested in Indonesia last September 4, the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta had to issue her a travel document not because her passport was cancelled.
