Blizzard has spoken about Diablo 4's latest patch, admitting that the update was 'bad' while revealing some of the changes coming in the future...

was a controversial one, thanks to a vast number of nerfs that were applied to player power, like vulnerable and critical damage, cooldown reductions, and more. The nerfs were so severe that some Nightmare Dungeons practically became impossible to beat — a patch to help remedy that was rolled out last week. Blizzard has spoken about the patch via a Campfire Chat, admitting that the team knows"it is bad" and won't be rolling out updates like that"ever again.

According to associate game director Joe Piepiora, the changes to cooldown reduction and vulnerable damage were necessary so they wouldn't remain the most important stats for meta builds, although Piepiora acknowledged that power reductions are"never a good experience." Game director Joe Shelly revealed that Blizzard's goal is to make Diablo IV more fun for players.

Among the changes, we can expect to see Legendary Aspect changes for Barbarians and Sorcerers, high levels of monster density in Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides, an additional Stash tab, increased elixir stack sizes, a 40% reduction to gold respect costs, increased experience gains from higher World Tiers, and more., which adds a host of gameplay changes or players on the Seasonal Realm.
