Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary Anna Mae Lamentillo disclosed that the department is aiming to hit at least 1 million Subscriber Identity Module card registration per day.

Citing the National Telecommunications Commission’s data, the DICT reported that the SIM registration has breached 16 million as of Monday, Jan. 9. This, however, is only 9.56 percent of the nearly 170 million subscribers in the Philippines.Although keen on accomplishing all the required registrations within 180 days, the DICT said they are also not ruling out the possibility of an extension.
