later this year, with the new title riffing on SteamWorld Dig's mining adventures beneath the surface while letting you establish a thriving city around the mine above ground. You'll need the two to be operating in harmony to get the best out of either — the more support your underground workers have from above, the more materials and ancient tech they can send topside to help improve things for everyone and work towards finding a way off this doomed planet.
SteamWorld Build is promising five suitably SteamWorld-y maps packed with secrets and three difficulty levels to ensure anyone can enjoy managing their mining towns, plus if you play on PC, there's aavailable on Steam now, so you can try it out for yourself. Thunderful hasn't offered a firm release date yet, so all we know is that SteamWorld Build will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One at some point in 2023.
