Dillian Whyte is set to take on former WBO interim champion Joe Joyce in a heavyweight showdown on April 5th at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester. The fight will also feature a number of other exciting matchups, including a clash between fellow Londoners Lawrence Okolie and Richard Riakporhe.

Dillian Whyte is set to face Joe Joyce in a heavyweight bout on April 5th at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester . Whyte, a former world title challenger with notable fights against both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, aims to rebound after a challenging period. Joyce, a previous WBO interim title holder and Olympic silver medalist, is returning from a surprising defeat to Derek Chisora last July. He will prepare for the Whyte fight with a matchup against Patrick Korte in March.

The undercard features a compelling clash between fellow Londoners Lawrence Okolie and Richard Riakporhe. Okolie, who lost his WBO cruiserweight world title to Chris Billam-Smith but reclaimed the WBC's bridgerweight belt, has moved up to heavyweight. Riakporhe, a former world-title challenger who also fought Billam-Smith at Selhurst Park, boasts a heated rivalry with Okolie. Another London heavyweight matchup sees English champion David Adeleye taking on Jeamie TKV. Adeleye, recovering from a loss to Fabio Wardley, impressed with a first-round knockout of Solomon Dacres. TKV secured his latest victory earlier this month, forcing Michael Webster out after nine rounds at Wembley Arena. Adding to the excitement, Paris Olympian Delicious Orie will make his professional debut on the same card.Whyte's focus remains on securing a rematch with Joshua, a fight that was canceled in August 2023 following adverse analytical findings in a drug test. Following his clearance to resume his career, Whyte defeated Christian Hammer and Ebenezer Tetteh last year. He continues to express his desire for the Joshua bout. 'Sounds perfect for me. They don't need to ask me twice,' Whyte stated previously. 'They talk about me as an option, but they haven't said anything to me, so it's just negotiation tactics from them. But I'm up for the fight and I'm ready to fight again. 'If he wants to fight, then all they've got to do is call me. I'm always up for fighting AJ. No problem for me. However, personally, I think he's finished. 'I think he made a huge mistake not taking the immediate rematch with Dubois. It was a world title fight, a great payday and the perfect opportunity to avenge his knockout loss. He will forever have to suffer the memes of being face-planted at Wembley by Dubois.'
