Padres 2023 first-rounder Dillon Head has back-to-back two-hit games for Lake Elsinore Storm
Maybe Dillon Head is about to get going. His second consecutive two-hit game finished with a walk-off single, sending low Single-A Lake Elsinore to a 7-6 win over Visalia on Thursday. Head went 2-for-5 with a walk. A day earlier, the 19-year-old center fielder collected a double among his two hits. The Padres’ first-round pick last summer, Head is hitting .234/.308/.319 with three steals after going 2-for-16 through his first three games. Head hit .267/.363/.
Albuquerque 10, Chihuahuas 2: LHP Jackson Wolf allowed four runs in 4⅔ innings in the loss and RHP Bobby Milacki three runs in 1⅓ innings in his Triple-A debut. RHP Jeremiah Estrada struck out four over two perfect innings. SS Mason McCoy went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. 3B Graham Pauley went 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Corpus Christi 4, Missions 3 : DH Cole Cummings went 2-for-4 with his first homer, a two-run shot in extra innings. RHP Carter Loewen allowed three runs while recording one out in the bottom of the inning. RHP Adam Mazur struck out four over five shutout innings. He allowed three hits and a walk. CF Jakob Marsee went 0-for-4 with a walk. 1B Nathan Martorella went 1-for-5 with a double.
TinCaps 7, Dayton 6 : RF Kai Murphy was hitless in the game but threw out a runner at the plate to end the game. 1B Griffin Doersching drove in four runs on three hits, including his second and third homers of the season and his fourth double. SS Devin Ortiz and LF Albert Fabian both had two hits. LHP Miguel Cienfuegos allowed four runs in 4 ⅔ innings in the start.
