Have YOU got a story? EmailThe anonymous Jane Doe who sued Diplo last June for allegedly distributing X-rated footage of their sexual encounters to third parties without her consent, filed a notice of dismissal on Monday.
Jane Doe's attorneys called the decision a 'startling, imbalance of power' telling Billboard: 'In the digital age, being compelled to disclose one's name in such proceedings risks permanently linking a survivor to their trauma.' The plaintiff quickly filed a police report and a DCPI spokesperson confirmed last June: 'There is a criminal complaint on file for unlawful dissemination for a suspect with the name of Thomas Pentz, which is currently being investigated by NYPD detectives.'
'I want to add also these previous claims have been dropped or abandoned and those facts go unreported. This is so frustrating and embarrassing. I am not this person and I won't be extorted by anyone no matter how stinging the press can be. Even over the past two years, I've never been bothered by these rumors.
