The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has reminded disabled people in Scotland to renew their National Entitlement Cards (NEC) before they expire. SPT no longer sends out renewal forms, so holders must ensure they apply at least five weeks before the expiry date to avoid disruption to their travel concessions.

The National Entitlement Card provides access to many public services across Scotland and gives elderly and disabled people free bus travel across the country. Through the Strathclyde Concessionary Travel Scheme, it also provides fee or reduced fares on train, Subway and ferry journeys.

This is to allow 10 working days for a new card to be issued to ensure the card arrives before the old one expires. You can renew your disabled NEC online at getyournec.scot if you have a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera or webcam. SPT supports the administration of the elderly and disabled concessionary travel schemes only. If you have a Young Persons' Free Bus Travel card, visit freebus.scot for more information.

Alternatively, if you are unable to complete the renewal process online using getyournec.scot, SPT will accept a photographed / scanned copy of your proof of eligibility document by email or post to the details below:
