'It felt bizarre to see clothes from Madonna’s tour in a Salford charity shop'
It’s fair to say there are a few charity shops across Greater Manchester that offer up a varied selection of impressive vintage and pre-loved finds. But not all of them can say they’ve had a donation of clothes from pop royalty.
Now, a number of items from the Manchester dress rehearsal residency have appeared within the racks of the Children’s Air Ambulance charity shop in Salford this weekend. One shopper, Alex Fisher, was browsing the charity shop on Friday afternoon when she came across the collection of clothes, which were labelled by staff to say they had been 'donated to us from the dress rehearsals at the AO Arena for Madonna's Celebration tour '23'.
“It’s my local charity shop which I go to pretty often and I just stumbled upon the rack and thought it was so cool,” she explained. “I am a big music fan and it felt bizarre to see clothes from Madonna’s tour in a Salford charity shop. Amongst the rest of the items were a pair of fetish-style leather shorts, which one TikTok follower suggested could have been made by R & M Leathers and be worth around £500, and a number of T-shirts priced at just £7.50.
