As temperatures are set to plummet in the coming weeks, it'll soon be time to turn the central heating back on for many of us.
With autumn almost upon us, many households will soon be reaching for the thermostat to fire up the central heating once again.
Now energy and insulation specialists National Insulation Supplies have highlighted a thrifty solution that could save homeowners hundreds of pounds. A radiator bleeding key, available for as little as 99p from online retailers and DIY stores, could prove crucial to significant savings. Experts estimate that maintaining efficient radiators could shave up to 20% off your heating bill a substantial saving given the current winter price cap, potentially amounting to around £350. Bleeding radiators is an easy process, requiring just five minutes per unit, and needs to be done only twice a year.
Wray points out that trapped air can prevent radiators from heating up effectively, leading to increased energy usage and higher costs.
