Leeds United need to find a middle ground in terms of expectation
What do Leeds United, Norwich City and Hull City have in common? It's not the word's worst joke out of a Christmas cracker, rather an indication that once again the unpredictable nature of the Championship means patience is needed once again.
Two wins later and with Leeds back in a play-off place and boasting the opportunity to go top of the table this week after playing Norwich City tonight and then Sunderland on Friday night, confidence is bubbling away nicely and optimism is again on the rise. And so goes the see-saw nature of the Championship as hope and optimism clash against frustration and despair with incredible regularity.
The fact only three sides are on a two-match winning run underlines the nature of this unrelenting division, and so when dropped points come, and they will, they need to be treated with a greater sense of reality. Leeds face two tough games on the road inside three days and after tonight at best only two sides will be able to boast a three-match winning streak. The likelihood is it'll be less than two sides.
